New product for the precipitation of amplified PCR* productst
For manipulation of PCR* products once formed, the standard method for precipitation of amplified PCR* products is a conventional phenol/chloroform extraction followed by ethanol precipitation. Restriction enzyme digestion and ligation of the PCR* product can be problematic due to the survival of Taq DNA polymerase and nucleotides. This may lead to blocking of the restriction enzyme overhang sites with a severe reduction of cloning efficiency. The use of SELECTANOL™ then overcomes these problems as it specifically precipitates amplified PCR* products (larger than 150 bp) whilst leaving nucleotides, primers, primer dimers and Taq DNA polymerase in solution.

USE:

by simple addition of a half volume of SELECTANOL™ to the PCR* reaction mix, followed by incubation on ice for 30 minutes, the PCR* products of interest are precipited far more efficiently than phenol/ chloroform.
