GENAWAX

GENAWaxis an original product specially designed to improve both specificity and yield of PCR* amplification reactions. In "hot start" experiments GENAWax separates reaction components into two phases prior to heating, thus allowing accurate control when amplification starts. Reaction components are pipetted into two phases separated by the wax. The bottom phase contains template, primers, buffer and water ; the upper phase contains nucleotides, enzyme, buffer and water. GENAWax can also be used to replace mineral oil in PCR* to prevent evaporation of reaction mixtures at high temperature. GENAWax is layered on top of the reaction mixture for this type of reaction.
